Hello, my name is Claire and I have Trichotillomania. I have found it very difficult to find information and support for this condition but over the last few years I have gathered quite an extensive collection of resources.  I would like to share these with other people looking for information and support to help them on their journey.

I am aware that there are a number of differing views out there as to what causes trich and how it is best treated. This can be very confusing. I want to highlight what medical professionals who have studied this disorder and have extensive experience of treating it have to say.

Sadly, here in the UK there is little awareness about Trich within the medical profession or amongst the general public.  As with so many things, Trich support, treatment and research is more advanced and developed in the USA.  You will therefore find a number of links to American resources on this site.

The aims of this website are:

Help and support
To provide a contact point for sufferers to come together, to identify sources of help, provide links to further resources
Awareness
To raise awareness of the disorder amongst the medical profession, the general public and media within the UK
Information
To explain what trichotillomania is, what treatment options are available
Research
To keep up to date with current research into Trich
